The Port of Cartagena is chosen as the best in the Caribbean
The Port of Cartagena Group was chosen for the tenth time as the best port in the Caribbean by the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA), its terminals Contecar and the Regional Port Society of Cartagena, it was chosen as the best port in the Caribbean.
The prize was presented last night at the close of version 49 of the Annual Meeting of the CSA that was held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Aníbal Ochoa, from the Commercial Department of the Port of Cartagena Group, was in charge of receiving this recognition that reaffirms the high competitiveness of the port area of Cartagena in Colombia and the Greater Caribbean area.
The previous versions in which the city won this award were in Barbados 2005, Panama 2006, Dominican Republic 2007, Suriname 2009, Jamaica 2010, Puerto Rico 2011, Cartagena 2015, Trinidad and Tobago 2016, Panama 2018.
Colombia has the best port in the Caribbean, one more reason for Colombians to feel proud of our ability to reach the highest standards of quality and levels of operational excellence, product of professionalism and the commitment of thousands of people who contribute to the chain port logistics with its daily effort and work, and from a private sector committed to drawing progress, competitiveness and development to our foreign trade, ”said Alfonso Salas Trujillo, manager of the Port of Cartagena Group.
Winners are not chosen based on the size of their port or terminal. The CSA evaluates the improvement, performance and safety of the different ports and terminals, therefore, any of the participants has an opportunity to win the jackpot, or any of the various sectional prizes, as long as their business management is at height and its internal processes reveal progress.
