It was lit in the Houston Astros clubhouse when rap superstar Travis Scott gifted his hometown team with pairs of his Air Jordan 1 Low Olive sneakers.
“You make the city of Houston proud in playing the greatest game on Earth at the highest level,” Scott said in a note addressed to the “World Champs.” “Let’s win another one.”
On Monday, the team posted a gallery on Instagram showing a box at each player’s locker and a few of their reactions to finding the coveted sneakers.
Third baseman Alex Bregman happened to be wearing a pair of Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Retro High Mocha sneakers that day and held the new shoe carefully with his face showing his appreciation.
“Oh my God,” he said in a video. “Trav, thank you. These are incredible.”
Manager Dusty Baker also posed with the sneakers, grinning widely.
“It was real cool, but I didn’t really know the value of what I got,” he told fox 26 reporter Mark Berman. “So I’ma have to call my son and ask him. Travis had given my son, I was going to buy them, but he sent my son the last two years some size 11s and my son, he cherishes those. I’ma call him today and tell him the shoes that I got.”
